Penny Preville signature designs are defined by femininity, luxury and exceptional attention to detail. An award winning designer, Penny fuses old-world techniques with a contemporary sensibility, always staying true to her core aesthetic. Penny is a veteran of COUTURE, having exhibited with the show since its inception, so we reached out to her for this year’s “Viva” series to get some real insider tricks and tips!
COUTURE: How many years have you exhibited with COUTURE?
Penny Preville: I have been lucky enough to exhibit at COUTURE since its inception. I’ll never forget arriving to set up at the first COUTURE, only to find out that none of the booths had been delivered to the show. We got by with using folding tables and had a great show.
COUTURE: What’s your COUTURE uniform?
PP: I like my clothes to complement my jewelry – feminine and romantic, which remains relevant in fashion, year after year.
COUTURE: What’s your guilty pleasure while in Sin City?
PP: Speaking of fashion, Vegas has great shopping! There’s nothing I like more than treating myself to a little something for working so hard and having a great show.
COUTURE: Do you have any tips for staying sane?
PP: Getting fresh air is crucial. English Breakfast tea centers me – and don’t forget my wine!
COUTURE: Vegas theme song?
PP: Girl On Fire by Alicia Keys
COUTURE: Vegas Survival Tips and Tricks?
PP: Water, comfortable shoes and hot tea with a chocolate chip cookie every night before bed.
COUTURE: Whose collection, other than your own, are you most excited to see this year?
PP: I really don’t get the chance to browse the aisles. But I do make a point to stop by the emerging designer area – I’m always so amazed to see how much talent there is out there. I remember when I was in their shoes.
COUTURE: What are you most excited to showcase this year?
PP: I design best under pressure, working on my new samples up to the very last minute. So far, I’m proud and excited by my new creations. Please come by and see what’s new!
