Viva Las Vegas with Uyen Vu

I decided to end the Viva series with Uyen Vu because I wanted to head into Vegas on a  hight-note and Ueyn is, quite literally, a rock star (I mean, really, she used to sing in a metal band). It’s so perfect that Uyen (pronounced “When”) landed at COUTURE as our graphic designer/creative director–she’s as much of an artist in her own right as the designers and brands that exhibit with us. Uyen works hand-in-hand with our Marketing Director, Erin O’Donnell, on establishing the overall look and feel of all things COUTURE. From our emails, to our signage and everything in between, Uyen is the one who makes us look amazing. She also has a penchant for brown liquor, the Los Angeles Kings and graffiti art, and she’s got a seemingly bottomless stash of hilarious memes that she shoots back to us in emails at the most opportune times, giving us a little laughter on a  daily basis.

COUTURE: How many years have you been working with The COUTURE Show?

Uyen Vu: 4 years so far, and many more to come.

COUTURE: Vegas Evening Ritual?

UV: A few glasses of whiskey and something unhealthy to eat after.

COUTURE: Sanity Tip?

UV: Go off the strip and avoid EDM clubs like STD’s…unless you like EDM or STD’s.

COUTURE: What are you most looking forward to at COUTURE 2016?

UV: Seeing all the amazing brands that represent COUTURE and wrecking sh*t with the COUTURE crew.

  1. Hello,Fashion isn’t my thing.Someone pointed this out to me bc I knew Skyy(Used to be her name)Very Proud of Uyen,Buuuut….She didn’t sing for a Metal band. She played Keyboards with the occasional Scream.Unless you count her & Sean’s Joke band. She also never drank Whiskey,Her Boyfriend did.She mostly drank Clear liquor.Sorry,Just pointing out the Uyen I knew in her late twenties early thirties. One major Truth in this blog,Article,Whatever. She is a Brilliant Artist.Always was surrounded by the best Artist back then too.But ppl change.Just sharing the Skyy I remember.

    • I find it interesting that you had to take the time out to actively search me, “Chris.” (I’m pretty sure I know who you are). You’re right, I never sang in the band as the article states—I played keys, and Sean’s “joke” band was full of talented musicians who were great people and made me a better musician. The person you “knew” in my 20s is nothing compared to the person I am now, you should stop holding me hostage emotionally. It’s unhealthy to hold onto the past. God bless you 🙂

    • Sean, why u always hiding behind fake names like the coward u are? Stalkin and ish…the band was a joke bc of U…we know it’s u…Skyy don’t need u to be proud, that girl put her life back together after what u did to her. Done stole and lied. Never drank whiskey? We knew her before u man…she always drank crown but yo ass was high all da time from dem pills you popped. The band was done before she even turned 30 so don’t act like u even know our sis. She drank vodka briefly when u were bummin off her in da 504 right? U rememba dat, lazy ass punk? Dont forget u stole band equipment and money from us and pawned it for drugs, just like yo junkie ass siblings did. Hows it feel to be 40 living with yo daddy and being a dead beat dad yoself? ???? Leave Skyy alone…she is happy and dont need yo memory lane trip man. U were a good musician, a shame but u chose drugs over us and lied to us…GTFOH brother
