Viva Las Vegas with K. Brunini

If you ever happen to cross paths with designer Katey Brunini, either at COUTURE or elsewhere, do yourself a favor and engage her in conversation. Katey’s jewelry is pure poetry, and her hilarious, often acerbic wit is but a thin veil over her sincere desire to get to know people on a deep and spiritual level. One could say that Katey’s laid back, relaxed vibe is pure California, but as you get to know her better you’ll discover, it’s just pure Katey. A notoriously private person, we were thrilled that Katey agreed to give us some insight into how she Vivas Las Vegas!

COUTURE: How many years have you been exhibiting at COUTURE?

Katey Brunini: 10? It’s a blur.

COUTURE: Vegas Uniform?

KB: Flowing robes.

COUTURE: Vegas Mantra?

KB: The odds are good, but the goods are odd.

COUTURE: Vegas Theme Song?

KB: The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers (know when to walk away, know when to run), or more appropriately, “Take me Home, Country Roads”  by John Denver

COUTURE: Vegas Evening Ritual?

KB: Smoke and Mirrors

COUTURE: Sanity Tip?

KB: Just give up on sanity, you are in the wrong city for that.

COUTURE: What’s the one piece/collection you’re most excited to launch?

KB: My Aztec Body Armor Collar.
