Photo Tour with Yoko London

Isabella Daniels is the first of the third generation to join her family business, luxury pearl jeweller, Yoko London. Isabella’s grandfather founded the company in 1973, and she spent her childhood visiting the workshop where the craftsmen let her pretend to make a piece of jewelry. She always knew that she wanted to join the family business, and after working for a PR agency for several years, she joined the company as the Public Relations and Marketing Manager. Isabella is passionate about the rarity and quality of the pearls she works with, and the uniqueness of the pieces Yoko London creates. She’s also passionate about the many wonders in her home town of London. So as we all work strenuously preparing to head to COUTURE, we decided to catch up with Isabella for a vicarious journey across the pond!

“London’s Southbank is a beautiful place to take stroll along the River Thames. Cross Waterloo bridge for one of the most amazing views of London at night. Along the Southbank there are numerous restaurants and bars, as well as the Tate Modern which is one of my favourite art galleries.”

“If you are here during the summer, try and catch a show at the Regent’s Park Theatre. Located in the middle of Regent’s Park, the whole theatre is outdoors in the middle of the trees. They normally have three different productions throughout the summer which are always brilliant. They have picnic tables and grassy areas outside the theatre where most people picnic before the show. It is a really unique experience watching a show as the sun sets behind the theatre.”

“Visit the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) where they have fantastic exhibitions relating to fashion, art and design. The building’s architecture is spectacular and they have a beautiful café and outdoor courtyard where you can have afternoon tea. Yoko London exhibited four pieces from our Masterpiece Collection at the V&A’s Pearls exhibition in 2013.”

“The Everyman Cinema is a great place to see a movie and they have locations around London. You sit on comfy sofas and armchairs and they offer a service where you can order food and drinks directly to your chair.”

“On a beautiful summers day or night go to Primrose Hill – from the hill you have a stunning view of the whole of London and it is the perfect place to bring a picnic and relax.”

“Our Yoko London head office is located in the heart of London’s jewellery district in Hatton Garden – this is where all the pearls are hand-selected for our pieces. Just next to our offices you’ll find Leather Lane Market – it is street food paradise with many different kinds of food available to buy for lunch. It is also home to some good coffee shops – my favourite is The Department of Coffee and Social Affairs. Another great food market is Borough Market in Southwark where you can sample and buy a whole range of different artisanal foods.”
