Like Cher or Madonna, designer Arman is one of those people who are recognized by just their first name. Recognizable as well is Arman’s distinct and prolific jewelry collection. Arman began his jewelry career at the ripe old age of 12 years old as an apprentice to his jeweler father, and his design approach has evolved over the years to include both old world and innovative techniques inspired by his travel, art and mystical and spiritual elements. We caught up with Arman to see how he’s planning on Viva-ing Las Vegas and to get a look at to what he’ll be showcasing at Couture:
How many years have you been exhibiting at Couture?
AS: This will be our 7th year.
What’s your packing strategy?
AS: Chaos always works.
What’s the oddest thing you bring with you?
AS: My daughter gave us a doll shoe for good luck, we have it at every show. Sounds silly but it works.
Do you have any tips for staying sane during the show?
AS: Playing chess on my iPad.
Favorite restaurant in Vegas?
AS: Dinning al fresco at Bartolotta.
Vegas beauty routine?
AS: Maintain the alcohol levels in my body.
Average number of hours you sleep each night during Couture?
AS: Plenty 3 – 4 hours a night.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
AS: Janelle Monae.
What are you dreading this year?
AS: I’m a happy guy, I don’t dread anything.
