Live Tweeting the Emmy Award’s Red Carpet

We had so much fun live tweeting the red carpet at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards with all our jewelry industry pals! Whether we were yelling at the TV to “Ask about the jewelry!” (Ryan Seacrest, did you hear us?) or drooling over the gems, we had an absolute blast. Here are some of our favorite fashion and jewelry looks of the night.

Colorful statement earrings were a huge trend amongst TV’s biggest starlets. We were especially fawning over Anna Gunn in opal earrings by Irene Neuwirth, Jane Krakowski in Wendy Yue carved turquoise earrings, Christina Hendricks and Sarah Hyland both in Lorraine Schwartz emerald earrings, and Sofia Vergara in ruby, sapphire and emerald Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

We usually jump out of our seat whenever we see statement necklaces on the red carpet but this year it only happened twice. Carrie Underwood looked very classic in a Jonathan Arndt diamond necklace (apparently the same artist designed her engagement ring). But Maria Menounos absolutely killed it! Her colorblocking combo of a cobalt blue dress paired with the breathtaking Lorraine Schwartz emerald necklace was just stunning! Oh and we see you emerald earrings and perfect fishtail braid! Easily one of our favorite jewelry looks of the night.

Cocktail rings were all the rage and looked fabulous on stars like Zooey Deschanel in a Chanel tourmaline ring, Allison Williams with a Fred Leighton 19th Century pink topaz ring, and Sofia Vergara rocking an emerald and diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartz.

Bangles and cuffs were all over the red carpet. We were crazy about Allison Janney’s Martin Katz pink and white diamond cuff, Padma Lakshmi’s Robert Lee Morris oversized yellow gold cutout cuff (and matching earrings), Taylor Schilling in a Neil Lane yellow quartz cuff, and Connie Britton’s yellow gold bangle stack by Cathy Waterman. Connie even confessed, “Let me just say, my jewelry is worth more than I am.” We also went nuts over Brooke Burke’s Antonini diamond cuff paired with carved jade earrings by Katerina Maxine and Luciana Barroso in Elahn earrings and bracelets by Sutra and Norman Silverman.

Colbalt blue and pastels were popular gown colors this year but our favorite jewel tone was Oxblood (or pomegranate as Heidi Klum calls it). This plum perfection looked especially gorgeous on Kaley Cuoco in Vera Wang, Heidi Klum in Versace and Mindy Kaling in Georges Chakras. And we love how this color trend has transitioned into lipstick. Sarah Hyland and Taylor Schilling were some of ladies who pulled off this risky beauty trend with flying colors!

Of course, hands down, we have to give our best-dressed award to bombshell, Sofia Vergara. We can always count on her to not only wear a beautiful dress that hugs her in all the right places but also flaunting gorgeous statement jewelry. Seriously,  who can keep their eyes off her? Wearing $7 million in jewels along with her knockout Vera Wang gown, Sofia still keeps it humble wearing Kmart underwear! Our favorite hashtag in our #emmyjewelry conversation was from Raymond Lee Jewelers on advice to stylists with #WhatWouldSofiaWear! Hah! So true! But Monica Stephenson of Idazzle about summed it up for us with her tweet, “Thank God for Sofia Vergara. That is all. #emmyjewelry. “
