We love the Emmys! As much as we enjoy cheering on the actors from our favorite shows, the best part is always the red carpet. So let’s talk fashion and jewelry trends from TV’s biggest night of glitz and glam.
Heidi Klum looked stunning in her sea foam green
Ginnifer Goodwin looked absolutely fabulous in her floral embroidered Monique Lhuillier dress and Rona Pfeiffer earrings. We’re obsessed with the details and color of this gown. She takes the best-dressed award in our book, hands down.
Zuhair Murad sequin gown. Some people say it was a little too Viva Las Vegas or bedazzled (which we can agree with on some level), but if anyone can pull it off, it’s Sophia Vergara. She continued to turn heads with some serious Neil Lane bling, weighing in at more than 175 carats!
Bright yellow was a hot trend on the red carpet. There seems to be a few haters out there, but we personally loved the mustard color. It’s so fun! Between Julianne Moore in Christian Dior, Claire Danes in Lanvin, and Julie Bowen in Monique Lhullier, our top pick would be Julie Bowen’s neon shade. This might even be our second favorite dress of the night. She had us at neon yellow. But Julianne Moore’s Fred Leighton cuff was a gorgeous accessory! Many of us in the jewelry industry were disappointed with Claire Danes lack of jewelry. We thought she really needed a statement necklace or bold earrings so she wouldn’t look so jewelry naked.
With nail art being all the rage, it was especially fun to see fingers strut the red carpet in E!’s new Mani-Cam. The best part was that we got to see rings up close and personal. As far as the manicures, we secretly loved Zooey Deschanel’s sparkly television on her thumbnail. She looked like an adorkable hipster princess. And her hair and makeup was flawless.
E!’s Giuliana Rancic looked classic in her Romona Keveza black gown paired with stunning Sutra emerald earrings. She told Ryan Seacrest that he could buy her those earrings as a baby shower gift. We can see why! On a side note, we also really liked her high pony.
We were a little saddened with Michelle Dockery’s Louis Vuitton dress choice. We were expecting more from our beloved Lady Mary Crawley. The sheer top is beautiful and has a great open back but the bottom of her satin gown is completely wrinkled. You would think Downton Abbey wouldn’t have let her walk out of the limo like that. Where was Maggie Smith when we needed her?!
Vivienne Westwood gown with gold embroidery at the bustline. Ladies, this is how you do it!
Hayden Panettiere reminded us of an Indian princess in her Marchesa gown. We kind of wish we could unwrap some of this blue tulle and see the pretty gold dress underneath but we appreciate that this look is different and she takes risks.
Fred Leighton was the jewelry frontrunner styling 14 ladies including Nicole Kidman, Tina Fey, Allison Williams, Julianne Moore, and Julianna Margulies to name a few. We especially loved Julianna’s 19th Century amethyst earrings.
Other jewelry standouts were Christina Hendricks in Lorraine Schwartz, Jane Levy and Sophia Vergara in Neil Lane, Lena Dunham in Penny Preville, Ginnifer Goodwin in Rona Pfeiffer and Julia Louis Dreyfus in one of a kind opal and diamond earrings and ring by Irene Neuwirth.
Emily VanCamp’s bow tie Van Cleef bracelet was by far our favorite jewelry piece of the night. She looked gorgeous in her pleated J. Mendel gown with sheer bodice…but that bracelet! Amazing. We’re still drooling.
