Stephen Webster opened his U.S. flagship boutique on Monday in this upscale section of Los Angeles, marking the edgy British designer’s first U.S. retail store.
Located on Rodeo Drive, the two-story salon will house Webster’s full fine and silver jewelry collections for both men and women together with a stream of rotating art exhibitions and creative collaborations.
The boutique’s Monday evening opening event was one befitting of both its exclusive address and its award-winning namesake designer, whose glam-rock jewelry styles are popular among celebrities. The cocktail party guest list included stars such as Kate Beckinsale, Sharon Osborne, Rosanna Arquette and legendary hairstylist Vidal Sasson.
“The store on Rodeo Drive will be our first flagship in the U.S.,” Webster said in a news release. “Over the past 10 years we have built strong ties with the L.A. community including the world of entertainment based there. The opening of this store is set to be extremely significant in our development.”
Webster said that the ground floor would echo the concept of his brand’s London flagship store, while the second floor is a curated area called “SW presents.” The space will house the work of guest artists, photographers and other creative exhibitions on a rotating basis. In addition, the Beverly Hills store will have a “stylist of the month” window where stylists and costume designers will be invited to create a scene incorporating Stephen Webster jewelry into their own designs. Marjan Malakpour will be the first stylist in the window, with clothing by Thomas Wylde and hair and makeup by Pamela Neal.
“This project is very exciting to me and my team who feel that the Stephen Webster brand is shifting to become an all-encompassing lifestyle experience,” Webster said.
Stephen Webster has more than 120 points of sale worldwide in the United States, United Kingdom, Russia, Dubai, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong, as well as eight Stephen Webster boutiques worldwide.
