Last Monday, December 1, film and fashion icon Penelope Cruz launched the Unbreakable Kiss Mistletoe Installation in Madison Square Park. The installation, sponsored by A Diamond is Forever, was in recognition of World AIDS Day. Couples filled the park to have their image taken under the mistletoe using A Diamond is Forever's "endless kiss" technology, which features an incredible 60 cameras. The Diamond Information Center made a $5 donation to the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) for every couple recorded during the week along event. The EJAF is a leader in the fight for AIDS treatment and prevention. The non-profit organization has raised over $150 million since it was founded in1992.
Other celebrities that joined A Diamond is Forever in recognizing World AIDS Day were Judith Light, Katrina Bowden, David Alan Basche, Sherri Suam, Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler.
Sir Elton John thanked Cruz and a Diamond is Forever in a written statement, "All of us at the Elton John AIDS Foundation are deeply grateful to our dear friend Penelope Cruz for representing the foundation at this important World AIDS Day observance and to A Diamond Is Forever for choosing to support EJAF through this lovely and unique event."
